Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 9-inch pans.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, and oil; mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in 1 cup boiling water (batter will be thin).
  5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
  6. Bake 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then invert to racks.
  8. Frost when completely cool and serve.
